The reason I haven’t been updating this blog in a few months is that I’ve been working on launching a new online venture called LegalMindsTV.
LegalMindsTV features exclusive video interviews with attorneys focused on a variety of corporate law topics, such as securities regulation, intellectual property, litigation, labor and employment, corporate finance, private equity, environmental law, etc. The goal is to provide timely content to senior corporate executives, their board of directors and their counsel, while offering the lawyers a platform for showcasing their practice area expertise and providing a marketing/business development platform to reach new clients.
Here’s a list of featured interviews currently on the site …
“New Developments and Legal issues in Outsourcing”
Richard Raysman, Holland & Knight LLP
“New Laws of Social Media”
Brian Cuban, Dallas Mavericks and Mark Cuban Companies
“Trends in Energy Company Finance, Post-Financial Crisis”
Jeffrey Delaney, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP
“Music and Film Licensing in the Current Digital Environment”

Included in that database are a treasure trove of declassified documents from the CIA.
Now that that database is easily accessible to the public via the Agency’s FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) Electronic Reading Room, we can search a vast archive of historically signficant documents that would have made a cold-war era KGB agent drool.
And what is the number one search term? …
Is it “Bay of Pigs.” Nope.
What about “Kennedy” or “assassination?” Not even close.
How about “nuclear weapons.” Getting even colder.
The top search term in five of the last six months, by a significant margin, is …

]]>While I don’t agree that Earth Hour is “anti-man and anti-innovation,” as CEIs website claims, I do think the video is a great reminder of the potential of human achievement. And that should have us all energized.
You may want to check out MBAvid.com, a free portal featuring video lectures on a variety of business topics, from strategy and finance to leadership and innovation. You’ll find a collection of informative videos from institutions such as Yale University, Carnegie Mellon, and Davos as well as a forum to share videos and ideas with other members of the community.
I’ve clicked through a few of the videos, most of which were aggregated from YouTube, and found quite a few interesting and thought-provoking presentations. I’m not sure I’d call it an MBA experience (they describe themselves as a “business video education portal,”) but I think it’s certainly worth exploring.
One video that I hadn’t seen before was the “Bill Gates Unplugged” presentation at Carnegie Mellon which concluded his farewell tour last year and included the self-deprecating “Bill Gate’s Last Day at Microsoft Video” from CES …

Now, there hasn’t been a day that goes by without receiving a least a dozen spam messages for … SUPERSIZING YOUR TOMATOE PLANTS?
Are Americans REALLY obessed with the growth potential of their tomatoes? Could this be some subliminal extension of Enzytes offline marketing campaign?
Or perhaps there is something more nefarious happening …
After years of having a static website and sharing my thoughts, resources and items of interest on different websites and blogs, I’ve decided to aggregate all these postings here on my own website.
Topics will range from politics and religion to technology and entrepreneurship. I hope that you’ll find the conversation interesting and that you’ll share some of your thoughts and comments.
